So World Records are allowed at this event?

Is this Quest event considered an IPF event? I know the Bench and Deadlift are, but wasn't sure if this event was considered an IPF or NAPF event?

I thought per the rules WR could only be set at the respective national championships, world championships, and "other" international events. I.E. no longer could WR be set at a local meet.

Rulebook:

International Competitions and National Championships
1. World and International records may only be made at the above named. That is, Championships
sanctioned and recognized by the IPF, World and International Records will be accepted without
weighing the barbell or the lifter, provided that the lifter had weighed in correctly before the
competition and that the referees or the Technical Committee had checked the weight of the barbell and
the discs before the competition. Men’s 50-59 records exceeding those gained in the 40-49 age group
will be included in the 40-49 category. Men’s 60-69 records exceeding those gained in the 50-59 age
group will be included in the 50-59 category. Men’s 70+ records exceeding those gained in the 60-69
age group will be included in the 60-69 category. Women 50-59 records exceeding those gained in the
40-49 age group will be included in the 40-49 category. Women’s 60+ records exceeding those gained
in the 50-59 age group will be included in the 50-59 category. Likewise Sub-Junior 14/18 records
exceeding those gained in the Junior 19/23 age group will be included in this group.

2. Requirements for recognition of a World and International record are as follows:
(a) The National championship or International competition must be held under the sanction of a
national federation affiliated to the IPF.
(b) Each of the adjudicating referees must hold a current IPF International Referee’s Card and be
a member of a national federation affiliated to the IPF.

How is the Quest event considered international? Not trying to stir the pot. Just wondering.

Rich:

The North American Powerlifting Federation [NAPF], the regional federation affiliated to the IPF, is going to sanction the Arnold Classic Championships.

Thank you,

Sorry, my fault. I mistook the meet for the one that is in Georgia each year.
